Body language is an important part of how we communicate, influencing everything from hiring and promotion decisions to the outcomes of political races. This meeting will teach you how to use your body to increase your confidence in high-stakes situations (like job interviews, stressful social encounters, and public speaking engagements). These situations, when personal presence matters most, are when power posing can be most effective, because to change your body is to change your mind. Note: Since Amy Cuddy gave this TED talk, some of her research has evolved. She no longer believes that power posing changes the hormonal balance of the body, but she continues to stand by her research showing that power posing helps you to feel more powerful. A replication study also supports this finding.
